Mental health expert, Alan Dovey, talks about looking after your mental wellbeing

We all have mental health, just as we have physical health. And just like physical health, it changes throughout our lives.

Mental health is not just the absence of mental health problem. It includes our emotional, psychological, and social wellbeing. It affects how we think, feel and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices.  

Over the course of our life, we experience many things that can influence our mental health, like moving house or losing a loved one. And even positive events, like a wedding or the birth of a baby, can trigger mental health issues.

The pandemic has created a unique challenge to our mental health, and many people are coming forward to seek help for the first time.
